Aaron Zimba is an Associate Professor at ZCAS University, where he serves as Dean of the School of Computing, Technology & Applied Sciences. He obtained his PhD in Network and Information Security at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, in the Department of Computer Science and Technology, and holds Master's and Bachelor's degrees from the Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University “LETI”. He is a member of the IEEE.
His research is tailored towards securing computer networks and systems. Research interests include network security models, blockchain, mobile security and cryptovirology, extending to cloud and IoT security. He is currently working on machine learning and natural language processing models for mobile financial fraud and scams.
Career
Twenty years of practice beginning in Saint Petersburg as a technical support engineer, system administrator and network administrator, then technical support at AfriConnect in Lusaka.
Twelve years at Mulungushi University as lecturer, senior research fellow and later Head of the Department of Computer Science & IT, alongside doctoral research in Beijing.
Joined ZCAS University in 2023 as Senior Lecturer, appointed Dean of the School of Computing, Technology & Applied Sciences in November 2023 and Associate Professor in January 2025.
